Residents of Millington, prepare for routine maintenance that could affect your water quality in the coming weeks. The city has enlisted Rogers Hydrant Service for a series of fire hydrant testing, painting, and water main flushing starting June 2, as part of its regular upkeep activities. The initiative will kick off in the Millington View area and move southward, potentially impacting neighborhoods south of SR 385.
The services are scheduled Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM throughout June. While the operations are critical for the upkeep of the city's water infrastructure and fire safety, they might lead to some temporary inconveniences. One is the temporary water discoloration that residents could witness during and after the maintenance work.
In an announcement on the City of Millington's official website, the city addressed concerns about the water discoloration. "During this time, residents may experience temporary discoloration of water," the statement reads. It advises citizens to "run your cold water tap for several minutes until the water runs clear" should they observe any discoloration. Additionally, it cautions against doing laundry until the water clears completely to avoid staining fabrics.
