A tragic chain of events took place in Milwaukee, where one person lost their life following a crash near 36th and Glendale that involved multiple vehicles and was reportedly sparked by nearby gunfire. Fox 6 News reports that the Milwaukee Police Department is still on the hunt for suspects after the incident, which occurred just after 10 a.m. on Friday, leading to one person's death.
The situation began when shots were fired near 37th and Ruby, which prompted a vehicle to evade the area hastily. This vehicle, described as an SUV, then breached a stop sign, colliding with another vehicle near a day care playground, according to police. While one suspect, a 23-year-old woman from the fleeing SUV, has been detained, authorities continue their search for additional individuals involved. WISN 12 highlighted neighbors' reactions, one expressing a chilling familiarity with the sound of gunfire, "I'm definitely not surprised about it because this is something we hear pretty much every single day," she said.
Meanwhile, the SUV that was struck suffered dire consequences as a result of the incident. The passenger, an innocent 61-year-old, was transported to a hospital but later succumbed to their injuries. The driver of the SUV managed to escape harm and stayed at the scene, as TMJ4 reported. Despite initial fears, no injuries from the daycare playground were reported, and, fortuitously, no one was injured by the initial gunfire.
