Tonight will see partly cloudy skies with a slim 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, and a low of around 53 degrees. The weekend forecast looks more promising with a sunny Saturday and a high around 65 degrees. However, it's not all clear skies—“There is a small chance for thunderstorms this afternoon. A few funnel clouds are possible,” warns the NWS Milwaukee statement.
More unsettled weather is anticipated tomorrow, with a 60 percent chance of showers and possibly a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening, potentially bringing gusty winds and hail. The NWS statement also highlights potential air quality issues due to smoke from wildfires in south central Canada, which "may reduce visibility and cause air quality issues" as it moves through the area tomorrow into the weekend.
Looking ahead, the Hazardous Weather Outlook advises that "There are chances for thunderstorms at times toward the middle of next week," continuing a pattern of sporadic summer storms.
