Efforts to bridge the gap between policy work and public health took a practical turn in Minneapolis, as City Council members and health department officials connected with young minds poised to shape the future of community well-being. According to a social media post from Minneapolis Ward 9 Council Member Jason Chavez, he and Deputy Commissioner of Health Ritchie spent time answering questions from interns involved in the 2025 Public Health Pathways Program (PHPP) on Thursday.
They received hands-on exposure to the public health sector, supervised directly by seasoned experts. Jason Chavez revealed on his Ward's official Facebook page, "It was great to talk about the collaboration of work between the Minneapolis City Council and the Health Department, and the intersection of work between public health and policy work."
