The Montgomery County Commission for Women has announced the winners of its annual "Girl Power Contest," now in its eighth year. Victoria Lever, Federica Albanese, Ansuya Bisbey, and Natalie Jean took home top honors in their respective categories. The competition, which is held in March to coincide with Women's History Month, celebrates the empowering roles of girls and women in society by encouraging them across age groups to participate and showcase their talents and ideas.
This year's winners spanned elementary to adult categories, and their success is a testament to the dynamism and creativity present across generations, not just the younger demographic who are often deemed the sole flagbearers of the future. The names of these winners were released through an official Montgomery County press release.
They will be recognized and celebrated on June 12. At the celebration, they will receive certificates signed by County Executive Marc Elrich and CFW swag bags as tokens of their accomplishments and contributions to the narrative of women's empowerment.
