
Montgomery County detectives are on the hunt for an auto thief after a vehicle was stolen in Silver Spring last February. According to the Montgomery County Police Department, the theft occurred on the morning of February 20, when officers from the 3rd District were dispatched to the Department of Health and Human Services on Georgia Avenue upon receipt of the auto theft report.
The suspect, who managed to steal a 2020 Toyota RAV4, initiated his heist by entering the lobby of DHHS, where he swiped a set of car keys from a security desk. The stolen vehicle has been described as red in color, annotated with Maryland plates marked 7EE2348. Investigators have since reviewed surveillance video and released a detailed description of the suspect in question.
Described as a Black male in his early twenties, the suspect stands around 5-feet, 10-inches tall and weighs approximately 175 lbs. His dark hair, slim to average build, and mustache might stand out to those who may have seen him. During the theft, he was clad in a gray hooded sweatshirt under a camouflage jacket, paired with black pants and black boots. The Public is urged to review the details and come forth with any relevant information that could facilitate his apprehension.
