Last night's sharp detective work from the Violent Crimes Division made a swift arrest of Keshawn Johnson, 19, following an armed robbery in West Nashville a reality. According to a release from the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), Johnson was caught shortly after the incident.
MNPD Sergeant John Tuberville reportedly spotted Johnson donning a ski mask, prior to storming into the Subway on Old Hickory Boulevard, and making off with cash at gunpoint. Following his observation, further details describe Tuberville as promptly notifying other officers to effectively intercept Johnson. In a parking lot on Clarksville Pike, wearing the ski mask exiting his vehicle, Johnson was arrested without incident.
When the officers searched Johnson's car, they uncovered a loaded handgun alongside the stolen cash and the ski mask. The MNPD presented these findings as evidence linking Johnson directly to the armed robbery in question.
Charges have been filed against Johnson for aggravated robbery, and he is currently being held on a $50,000 bond. The swift action by detectives, as highlighted in the Metro Nashville Police Department statement, underscores the ongoing efforts to maintain public safety amid concerns over violent crimes.
