North Huntingdon Township residents are on alert following vehicle break-ins, with local authorities actively investigating the incidents. The thefts, which were concentrated in the west end of the township, prompted a response from the North Huntingdon Police Department, urging community members to be vigilant in protecting their property.
According to a statement obtained by WPXI, police are advising residents to "lock their vehicles and remove valuables and firearms from inside them." The department has cautioned the public against engaging with perpetrators, recommending that anyone who encounters a person illegally entering their vehicle should avoid confrontation and instead contact the police at 724-863-8800 immediately.
To minimize the likelihood of thefts, the North Huntingdon Police Department also suggests that residents turn on outside lights and ensure motion lights are activated before retiring for the night, as reported by WTAE. The department believes these measures could serve as deterrents to would-be thieves.
