A FedEx driver in Northeast Ohio was injured during an armed robbery on Tuesday, the Columbiana County Sheriff's Office reported. The incident occurred just past midday near Township Line Road and State Route 45 in Madison Township, where the driver sustained a head injury. According to FOX8, the victim was transported to the hospital for medical attention.
Officials are calling for public assistance to track down the individuals responsible. The robbery took place around noon on Monday, and the sheriff's office is urging anyone with information or who noticed suspicious behavior in the area to come forward, WTVOV 9 reports. The driver, whose identity has not been disclosed, was treated at a local hospital for the injuries sustained during the altercation.
Sheriff Brian McLaughlin issued a press release as well on Tuesday afternoon, indicating that the call regarding the robbery was received at approximately 12:10 p.m. "If anyone saw anything around noon in that area, he asked that they please contact the sheriff's office," the sheriff was quoted in a statement obtained by The Review. The law enforcement agency has also provided an avenue for anonymous tips through their mobile app.
