The incident took place on May 13 at approximately 4:42 PM at the corner of Elton Avenue and East 162 Street, within the jurisdiction of the NYPD's 42nd Precinct.
Details regarding the suspects remain scant, as authorities are working to untangle the series of events that led to this violent encounter, in the interim, the NYPD has turned to the public, appealing for any information that could lead to the apprehension of the responsible parties; according to a social media post by NYPD Crimestoppers, witnesses or those with relevant knowledge are urged to come forward and confidentially share what they know by calling the toll-free hotline at 800-577-TIPS or via the online portal.
The law enforcement agency has also incentivized information sharing by offering a reward of up to $3,500 for tips that facilitate progress in their investigation.
