
The NYPD is on the hunt for an individual wanted in connection with a sexual assault incident that took place on a northbound 1 train in Manhattan. The authorities detailed how an unidentified person allegedly targeted a 27-year-old male victim last Saturday morning. The event occurred while the train was moving toward the Christopher Street subway station in the West Village neighborhood, home to the NYPD 6 Precinct and Transit District 2.
According to the social media post, the suspect allegedly made sexual remarks and demanded money from the victim, ultimately forcing them to perform a lewd act. The assault took place around 4:15 a.m., after which the suspect fled the scene on foot, exiting Christopher Street station and disappearing into the surrounding streets.
The NYPD is offering a reward up to $3,500 for information leading to the arrest of the culprit. In their call to action, police have encouraged anyone with information about the crime to come forward, reminding the public that tips can be provided anonymously via the NYPD's Crimestoppers website or by calling the hotline.
