The Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation announced that the Puʻuloa Road off-ramp from the eastbound Moanalua Freeway will be closed on Friday night from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. The closure is for striping work. Drivers will be redirected through a detour during this time, according to the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation.
Striping work is scheduled over two weeks. This week, work is on the left side of the off-ramp. Starting May 23, work will shift to the right side. The right lane on H-201 will have intermittent closures for pavement arrow installation. Traffic can exit using the shoulder lane during work hours, except for brief closures of the shoulder. When the shoulder is closed, drivers should use the alternate route via Fort Shafter/King Street off-ramp, Funston Road, and Kaua Street to reach Māpunapuna businesses, as reported by the Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation.
Special duty officers will guide vehicles and maintain safety during the lane closures. Hawaiʻi Department of Transportation will use electronic signs to alert drivers about the closures.
