A fatal collision in Southeast Austin has claimed the life of one individual and injured two others this past Saturday. The incident occurred on the 2300 block of Riverside Drive, shortly before 4 p.m., as reported by CBS Austin. Austin-Travis County EMS arrived on the scene to find one adult requiring CPR; however, the victim was later pronounced dead.
Following the crash, East Riverside Drive was temporarily closed to traffic between Burton Drive and Willow Creek as emergency responders worked at the site. One of the injured parties was transported to Dell Seton with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, and the second declined transport after the accident, CBS Austin notes.
By 7:45 p.m., the Austin Police Department had reopened the roads, signaling a return to normal traffic flow in the area. The details surrounding the cause of the collision are still under investigation, and no further information has been released by officials as of yet.
