An overnight house fire in Ambridge resulted in one person being hospitalized with smoke inhalation. The fire, which took place on Hazel Avenue, was reported to Beaver County 911 officials around 10:30 a.m., according to a WTAE report. The Ambridge Fire Department indicated that police assisted in evacuating a resident from the rear of the house before the arrival of firefighters.
The blaze consumed a significant portion of the front porch, but the fire crews managed to get it under control within 40 minutes of their arrival, a fast response no doubt.
While the person hospitalized is being treated for smoke inhalation, an investigation into what sparked the flames is underway—a collaboration between the state fire marshal and Ambridge police, according to information provided by WPXI.
