A tragic incident unfolded on I-95 in Brevard County on Memorial Day when a crash resulted in one fatality and left three children hospitalized. As reported by WESH, the collision, involving a Ford F-350 and a Honda Odyssey, occurred in the southbound lanes just north of the Pineda Causeway near mile marker 188.
The driver of the Honda Odyssey, identified as an adult female, was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the vehicle's three occupants, as detailed by WFTV, indicate that the other occupants were children. They were transported with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.
Following the crash, the Florida Highway Patrol established a roadblock, and the outside lane was subsequently reopened, as the incident caused significant disruptions to the flow of traffic along this busy stretch of highway. Information from the scene suggests that the Ford F-350 driver remained on-scene and was not transported for medical treatment.
As of now, troopers are still investigating the exact cause of the crash, with no further details being released.
