Clermont police, after a tense period of investigation, have managed to arrest Damian Martinez, the suspect in the attempted bank robbery and bomb threat that took place earlier this week. As reported by WESH, the apprehension occurred yesterday, with no violent incidents, in Brevard County by local law enforcement.
Martinez, aged 36 and a resident of Orlando, is accused of entering the Truist Bank on East Highway 50 in Clermont and demanding money under the premise of possessing a bomb before he made his escape before police arrival. This attempt unraveled on a Wednesday morning and was abruptly stunted as Martinez fled the scene before the arrival of police, says WFTV.
Gratitude was expressed towards several participating law enforcement agencies by the Clermont Police Department, notably including the Winter Garden Police Department, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, and additional support from the Osceola Sheriff’s Office, Kissimmee Police Department, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement; all of whom contributed to the successful capture of Martinez.
Martinez is currently being held without bond as the investigation continues, with his charge being attempted armed robbery.
