Drivers planning nighttime travel through Greeley might need to rethink their routes starting next week. The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) will implement full closures of US 85 and US 34 during overnight hours to install new overhead signage, an essential move for road safety and driver information. Similar disruptions and detours are on the calendar for May 6, May 13, and May 15, including the closure of eastbound US 34 and the northbound US 85 Business ramp toward 8th Avenue. Drivers will be rerouted via 11th Avenue to 31st Street, then using 1st Avenue and East 28th Street to return onto eastbound US 34.
Continuing, on May 7, 8, 10, and 11, travelers will face closures on westbound US 34 and the northbound US 85 Business route towards Greeley. A detour will send drivers to the northbound US 85 ramp to 22nd Street, then onto US 85 Business/8th Avenue to rejoin westbound US 34 or southbound US 85 Business.
