A 27-year-old man was caught red-handed on Monday evening at a Valencia department store after he allegedly attempted to swipe more than $700 worth of high-end fragrances. The incident unfolded at around 6:30 p.m. on the 26400 block of McBean Parkway, where store loss prevention staff were quick to detain the suspect until Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene.
According to a Facebook post by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, the Palmdale man had multiple warrants for his arrest. Deputies were able to confirm the suspect's identity and outstanding warrants, leading to his arrest on the shoplifting charges and warrants.
The suspect was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station jail, where he was booked.
