Located at 10585 Red Bluff Road, near Bay Area Boulevard, the structure belongs to the Lineage Company, a firm specializing in temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics. The blaze was initially reported by Click2Houston, which noted that there was no immediate danger to the public.
Investigation into the incident revealed that maintenance or installation operations were underway when the solar panels atop the warehouse unexpectedly ignited. The Pasadena Fire Department, however, has yet to confirm that this activity sparked the fire. Aerial footage from Air 11, highlighted by KHOU, showed extensive damage to the solar installations.
Despite the Pasadena Fire Department's prompt action to extinguish the blaze, the incident left the solar panels visibly charred. Officials have announced that there is no current shelter-in-place order due to the fire, but they are still determining whether any hazardous materials were stored inside the facility at the time of the incident.
While the flames have been subdued, officials warn that emergency crews might still be present in the area as the investigation continues.
