
Earlier this morning, a tragic crash occurred at the intersection of N. Nebraska Ave and E. Robson St in Tampa, resulting in the death of a pedestrian and the arrest of a motorist, as reported by official Tampa government news. Officers who responded at approximately 4:19 a.m. discovered an adult male pedestrian who had been fatally struck by a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators have determined that Armahnee Edwards, a 23-year-old, was driving a 2019 Hyundai Elantra northbound on N. Nebraska Ave when the vehicle encountered the pedestrian, who entered the car’s path. Showing signs of impairment, Edwards was immediately taken into custody at the scene after the pedestrian struck.
Edwards is now facing serious charges, which include one misdemeanor count of "Driving Under the Influence with Property Damage or Personal Injury" and one felony count of "Driving While License Canceled, Suspended or Revoked (Death or Serious Bodily Injury)," noted the Tampa government's release.
