Tiffany Wright, 43, of Penn Valley, was arrested on Sunday on charges of elder abuse and battery with serious injury. The Nevada County Sheriff's Office reported that deputies responded to a disturbance call just before 8:00 pm and found two elderly victims with "substantial" injuries at a home on Sun Forest Drive.
Wright was found at the scene with assistance from the CHP. He initially gave officers a false name and birth date. It was later revealed that Wright was living in the same home as the two victims, a 75-year-old woman and an 87-year-old man. Both victims required hospitalization after sustaining multiple lacerations and contusions from what appeared to be a physical altercation with Wright, as stated by the Nevada County Sheriff's Office.
According to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, Wright was transported to a hospital for treatment of her own laceration before being booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility. Her bail was set at $250,000 due to the serious charges. The Sheriff's Office responded to a 9-1-1 disturbance call, ensuring the safety of the victims and the arrest of Wright. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as Wright moves through the legal process.
