The latest weather update from the National Weather Service (NWS) in Philadelphia promises a shift from the breezy and mostly sunny conditions of today to a week ahead mottled with rain showers. According to the NWS Philadelphia, residents can expect a high of around 75 degrees with west winds of 10 to 20 mph and occasional gusts reaching up to 35 mph. This will be followed by a partly cloudy night with lows dipping to around 56 degrees.
Continuing, the forecast for Monday is one of sunny skies, boasting a high near 74 degrees, while Monday night should see the mercury fall to around 50. However, moving into the night, the NWS states that gusts might hit as high as 20 mph. A resplendent sun will linger on Tuesday, cushioned by northwest winds of 5 to 10 mph and temperatures similar to Monday's glory, but this will precede a 50% chance of showers after 2 am on Tuesday night.
As we push through the midpoint of the week, the weather is expected to turn. Showers are forecast to roll in on Wednesday, persisting throughout the day and night, with high chances of precipitation pegged at 90%. The NWS notes that similarly dreary conditions will carry over into Thursday, with a 70% likelihood of continued rainfall and a high temperature hovering just below 60 degrees.
The prospect of showers looms for the end of the week as well, with a 30% chance of rain on both Friday and Friday night framing a partly sunny day wherein temperatures may climb to around 64 degrees. Passing through the night, residents should brace for more potential showers. But on Saturday, a reprieve is expected with mostly sunny skies and pleasant highs approaching 69 degrees, as detailed by the forecast from NWS Philadelphia.
