The School District of Philadelphia has partnered with the city to offer a gratis six-week summer camp program at EDEY schools citywide. The "Summer Achievers" camp, which serves rising 1st—8th graders, kicks off on June 24 and runs through August 1, per the City of Philadelphia.
With 20 Extended Day, Extended Year District schools participating, Summer Achievers is touting a full schedule, including free meals, enriching activities, and field trips designed to inspire and energize students. However, the interest is high and spaces are limited, so families should act quickly to secure a spot for their children. Registration is conveniently online and only takes a few minutes.
Thanks to Mayor Parker’s Extended Day, Extended Year initiative, a partnership between the City of Philadelphia and the school district, no costs will be passed onto families. This program is not just some lecture-filled snooze fest; it promises to keep participants active and engaged during the long summer days.
