Philadelphia experienced overcast skies and patchy fog throughout the morning. The National Weather Service reported humidity levels at 93 percent, accompanied by calm winds. These conditions contributed to reduced visibility in some areas during the early hours of the day.
As the fog is expected to clear by 10 a.m., residents can look forward to partly sunny skies with a 30 percent chance of showers after 4 p.m. Although the showers are expected to produce less than a tenth of an inch of rainfall, the area could benefit from additional moisture. The high for today is projected near 66 degrees with a west wind blowing at 5 to 15 mph.
Tonight’s forecast indicates clearing skies, leading to a mostly sunny Saturday with breezy conditions and gusts up to 30 mph. The mostly sunny weather is expected to continue into Sunday, with highs around 70 degrees and winds remaining from the west.
The period of favorable weather is expected to continue through Memorial Day, with highs near 74 degrees. As the week progresses, there is a 50 percent chance of showers on Tuesday night, and partly cloudy skies are forecasted to remain throughout the week. "A chance of showers" persists into next Wednesday and Thursday, according to the NWS, though temperatures are expected to warm to a comfortable 76 degrees by next Thursday.
