Early in the morning, a pickup truck caused quite a disruption after crashing into a Baldwin home. The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. on the 600 block of Agnew Road. According to WPXI, the truck severed a gas meter and a water line before barreling into the building, displacing the home's occupants, a husband and wife.
Deputy Chief Chris Barker of the Baldwin Independent Fire Company described the aftermath of the accident, saying the truck driver then ran from the scene. Pittsburgh's only news chopper, Sky 4, captured footage of emergency crews working diligently to extricate the truck from the home. The video, aired by WTAE, showed the vehicle being pulled across a yard and away from the damaged structure.
No injuries were reported in the incident. The truck has since been removed, and efforts are underway to board up the gaping hole left in the home's facade. The reasons behind the crash remain unclear, and authorities have not yet provided information regarding the runaway driver's identity or potential causes for the accident.
