The Pierce County Auditor’s Office is seeking individuals to fill vacant positions for committee members who will be responsible for writing statements against two Fire Protection District propositions that will appear on the Primary Election Local Voters’ Pamphlet for August 5. The office is encouraging community participation as the deadlines approach.
Prospects are required to be residents within the relevant jurisdiction in Pierce County to qualify for these roles. Furthermore, all applicants must commit to constructively work together with other committee members and maintain consistent email communication. According to the official announcement, these are fundamental to the orderly crafting of statements that could significantly influence voter perceptions and decisions on the Fire Protection District measures, namely Proposition No. 1 for both the Riverside Fire & Rescue and the Key Peninsula’s EMS Levy Lid Lift.
Committee members will be expected to follow the guidelines set forth in the Elections Guide for Jurisdictions. Those selected will have their names published in the local voters' pamphlet, and at least one member will need to provide a phone number, email, or website for voter inquiries. Individuals interested in applying should send their information, including voter registration address and contact details, to [email protected], as outlined in the announcement.
The Pierce County Auditor's Office will accept applications for committee positions until noon on May 6. Those applying must submit the required statement by email by 4:30 p.m. on the same day. Due to the limited timeframe, no extensions will be provided. This schedule is in place to ensure voters receive the necessary information for the upcoming election.
