The Ceres Police Department arrested 27-year-old Christopher Rios from Pittsburg after a six-month investigation into allegations of sexual offenses involving a minor. The investigation began when the mother of a 16-year-old girl found suspicious messages on her daughter's social media, as reported by the Ceres Police Department.
The Ceres Police Department Investigations Bureau found that Rios traveled from the Walnut Creek area to Ceres with the intent to engage in sexual acts with a teenager in exchange for vape pens and cash. Investigators also discovered that sexually explicit photos were shared between Rios and the girl on different social media platforms, which led to his arrest.
According to the Ceres Police Department's official Facebook page, Christopher Rios was arrested following a collaborative effort between Ceres Police detectives and the Walnut Creek Police Department. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently facing charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. The investigation has not identified additional victims at this time. However, the Ceres Police Department encourages anyone with information or who believes they may have been affected by Rios's actions to contact Detective Petersen at (209) 538-5627.
