A late-night dispute escalated into a police presence on E Carson Street in Pittsburgh's South Side Flats area, ending in a minor injury for one officer and an arrest. According to the City of Pittsburgh Public Safety Blotter, the confrontation began inside a restaurant and spilled onto the street, leading authorities to intervene around 2:15 a.m.
The Pittsburgh Police from Zone 3 were called in to handle the situation. Upon their arrival, they discovered a crowd, both inside and outside of the establishment, that their accounts describe as disorderly. The officers issued multiple verbal warnings for the individuals to disperse, during which they encountered one adult male who remained in the area and continued causing disturbances after he refused to leave.
When the officers went to arrest the disruptive individual, he put up resistance, which resulted in an officer receiving a facial abrasion. Pittsburgh EMS evaluated the injured officer at the scene, though he did not require transportation, signaling the minor nature of the abrasion.
The adult male involved in the resistance was arrested and brought to the Allegheny County Jail.
