Yesterday evening, a stabbing incident at a Raleigh Sheetz gas station escalated into a standoff with a suspect who had barricaded himself in a nearby apartment. According to a statement from the Raleigh Police Department, officers were dispatched around 7 p.m. to the Sheetz located at the intersection of Millbrook Road and Green Road in northeast Raleigh in response to the reported stabbing, according to the CBS 17.
The victim, a man who sustained stab wounds, was quickly transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening. The situation intensified when law enforcement later attempted to take the suspect into custody from an apartment. The man, identified as Jarvis Gray, refused initially to come out, leading to a police blockade of the building and the evacuation of other tenants for safety, as reported by ABC11.
After securing the scene yesterday night, the standoff continued until 1:30 a.m. on Thursday when officers finally took Gray into custody. The arrest warrant revealed that Gray was charged with assault with the intent to kill, as per WRAL report. Following his arrest, he was briefly hospitalized before being jailed, later bonding out on a $150,000 bond.
