Ramsey County has rolled out the fourth installment of its Inclusive Workplaces Cohort, as confirmed by a recent announcement. This initiative, a collaboration with the Workforce Innovation Board (WIB), targets the development of community business leaders to nurture workplace environments where diversity and inclusion aren't just buzzwords but living, breathing elements of their organizational DNA. The program consists of nine months of executive leadership coaching, aimed at a broad range of industries within the region.
In an effort to more effectively push forward, eight organizations have been chosen for this year's cohort. These include a diverse mix of nonprofit organizations like Wilder Foundation and Every Meal, health service providers such as MNGI Digestive Health, and local businesses like Backstory Coffee Roasters. According to a statement from Ramsey County, these participating groups will dive into a curriculum full of peer conversations, learning modules, and problem-solving workshops that promise to both inspire and challenge them to fully embrace and implement inclusive practices.
The guiding hand for the cohort will be ADR Consulting Group, known for its intersectional approach and practical DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) expertise. They aim to create a supportive atmosphere that empowers participants to critically reflect and generate actionable strategies for fostering inclusivity. Details on the structure of the program indicate that the experience is tailored, allowing for the implementation of practices that make sense for each entity's culture and objectives.
Catrice O’Neal, Director of Ramsey County Workforce Solutions and Executive Director of the WIB, addressed the new cohort with an invitation to deepen their commitment to equitable workplaces. "We are excited to welcome the fourth Inclusive Workplaces Cohort and commend these employers for their commitment to cultivating workplaces where all people can thrive," O'Neal expressed in a release. The initiative aligns with the WIB's broader efforts to actively dismantle systemic barriers and to promote an inclusive economic landscape within Ramsey County.
Responsibility for the Inclusive Workplaces Cohort falls to the WIB’s Equity Committee, symbolizing their ongoing pledge to workforce development with an equity core. They receive additional backing from the Partnership and Outreach Committee, ensuring a range of perspectives contribute to the program's success. This year's cohort, by drawing on this collective wisdom, signifies yet another step in the march towards workplaces where everyone is seen, appreciated, and can succeed.
