For those navigating the streets of Rocklin, the ongoing Main Construction Update on Midas Avenue requires some added patience and possibly tweaking your commute route. According to a Facebook post from Placer County Water Agency, temporary road work that began the week of May 5 is slated to last until May 23 on Midas Avenue, stretching from Pacific Street to Argonaut Avenue.
In this final phase of the Rocklin Main Replacement Project Phase 1, crews will be tending to critical aspects of the roadways, "Crews will be raising valve and manhole covers to the level of the new road surface, followed by road striping," the agency shared. Work hours are scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, with alternating one-way traffic flow being maintained by flaggers. Drivers should brace for potential delays and, if viable, consider an alternate route, as reported by the Placer County Water Agency.
Furthermore, the agency has instructed that there will be no parking permitted on Midas Avenue in the designated work zone during this period. Despite the disruptions to vehicle traffic, pedestrian access is expected to be maintained throughout the construction span. Residents and commuters are advised to stay updated as "the timing of this work is subject to change," as stated by the Placer County Water Agency.
