Alhambra streets witnessed a stir when local police conducted a routine traffic stop that unfolded into an arrest scene near Main Street and Hidalgo Avenue. The Alhambra Police Department detailed the event in a Facebook post, revealing that officers pulled over a driver suspected of being under the influence, only to find both the driver and passenger sporting injuries and bloodied by broken glass.
Investigation on the spot disclosed that the damaged appearances of Cecil Fuentes of Rosemead, CA, and his passenger did not stem from the cause, but were rooted in a recent collision with a parked car along the 400 block of Almansor Street, with evidence that their injuries came from this crash. Though no further information has been disclosed about the passenger, Fuentes was detained and booked at APD Jail following the stop.
Alhambra Police used this incident to remind the public of the gravity that accompanies drinking and driving. They emphatically advised against operating a vehicle after consuming alcohol, suggesting alternative options such as calling a sober friend, utilizing a rideshare, or hailing a cab. "It only takes one moment to change everything," the department warned.
