Attention all drivers who regularly navigate the intersection of Route D and Route 67: you’ll need to adjust your commutes starting next week. MoDOT has announced that beginning Monday at 9 a.m., the loop ramps at the intersection will be closed. This shutdown is part of a project to replace the Route D bridges over Route 67, which is expected to continue through the end of 2026.
The closure means no access to the loop ramps for entering or exiting Route D. However, with signs pointing the way, detours will steer motorists to alternate paths. According to MoDOT, the directional ramps that have remained open will still be usable during the construction period. Drivers should prepare for changes in their routine travel patterns.
Commuters should note that while under construction, Route D will not be completely closed. Crews will work on one half of the bridge at a time, allowing both eastbound and westbound traffic to continue throughout most of the project. Periodic short weekend closures affecting Route 67 are also expected, limited to essential work such as bridge demolition and girder installation. In their announcement, MoDOT stated that all construction activities are "weather permitting," and changes to the planned schedule may occur due to weather conditions.
