
During a traffic stop in the morning that quickly escalated, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Apprehension Team (SOCAT) seized 4 pounds of a Cocaine-Fentanyl mixture.
Following a vehicle search triggered by a K-9 alert, the suspect, identified as Mauricio Campuzano Martinez, found himself at the center of numerous narcotics charges, including allegations as serious as Trafficking Cocaine and Trafficking Fentanyl, as reported in a social media announcement by the Rowan County Sheriff's Office.
The arrest led to the confiscation of drugs, Martinez’s 2020 BMW, and $1,524 in cash, all seized during the enforcement action. Following the charges and his encounter with law enforcement, Martinez was given a $3 million bond at the Rowan County Detention Center.
