It's not just about the beer—although let's be real, beer is a significant part of it—the Front Street Brewfest on Saturday, May 10, is serving up brews for a cause. A block party with a heart, the streets alongside the Front Street Animal Shelter at 2127 Front Street in Sacramento will be alive with the sounds of clinking glasses and the buzz of a good time from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m, as reported by the Sacramento City Express.
Over 2,500 attendees are expected to show up for this celebration, and according to a statement obtained by Sacramento City Express, Philip Zimmerman, Animal Care Services Manager, sees the fun as a critical support for second chances. "This event is a fun way to support animals who are truly in need of a second chance," Zimmerman told Sacramento City Express. With tickets already on the brisk path to sell out, it's not just beer aficionados jumping at the chance to raise a glass for a good cause.
Tickets are still up for grabs, with general admission going for $55, granting you the power to sample liberally and responsibly from all on offer. For $80, not only do you get to bump up to VIP status, but you also get an extra hour of early access. The sober-curious or designated drivers can also join in for a mere $10. You can check what your hard-earned cash supports over at the Sacramento City Express website for additional satisfaction.
The day's festivities aren't limited to drinking, though. Attendees, fueled by altruism and some of the region's finest brews, will also be treated to live music and outdoor games. Adding to the mix, a plethora of food trucks will be on standby to help soak up the suds. According to the Sacramento City Express interview with Zimmerman, "Events like Brewfest make our work possible. They allow us to continue caring for the most vulnerable animals in our community and give them the love and medical care they deserve."
This is a 21+ event, so no kids allowed. Pets should stay home too—shelter animals will be the stars here, and some are up for adoption. Your Brewfest wristband also gets you free entry to the California Automobile Museum, as per the Sacramento City Express.
