According to the latest forecasts from the National Weather Service, Salt Lake City residents can expect a splash of rain and possible thunderstorms over the next week. You might want to carry an umbrella if you're stepping outside today. The evening isn’t looking any drier. NWS predicts a 90% likelihood of continued showers and possibly a thunderstorm, the temperature dipping to a low around 47. As for Sunday, don't expect to shake the rain just yet, make sure to keep rain gear close, the NWS forecasts 100% chance of precipitation with more showers and thunderstorms possible after noon and a high hovering near 57 degrees, so it’s looking to be quite the soggy weekend for those in the Salt Lake region.
NWS's detailed forecast shows some respite as we head into the new week with a lower 40 percent chance of showers Sunday night and the clouds starting to clear on Monday, leaving just a 20 percent chance of morning showers and a high around 57 degrees, as you head off to work on Monday, you might even get to enjoy some sunshine by the afternoon.
Looking further ahead, skies are set to clear up even more, with forecasted sunny days beginning Tuesday and highs gradually climbing from 69 to a pleasant 84 degrees by Friday, it seems as if, after a bout of thunder and the rumble of clouds, the city is destined for some overdue sunshine, it might just be a good time to plan some outdoor activities or perhaps relax in one of the city’s parks once the weather clears.
