Crime Stoppers and the San Antonio Police Department are on the lookout for leads in the recent homicide at a Northeast Side hotel. The investigation is centered around the shooting death of 37-year-old Ardise Donnell Ford, which took place early in the morning on April 10 at the Qubed Hotel. The address, as noted by KSAT, is in the 4600 block of Rittiman Road.
According to a police report, Ford was supposedly shot just after opening his hotel room door. Arriving officers found Ford in the doorway of his room at Qubed Living, and he was taken to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, as per a report by KSAT. Guests at the hotel indicated that a woman who had apparently been staying in the same room as Ford fled the scene upon police arriving.
While the shooter still remains unidentified, SAPD has made a public plea for information that may clarify the motives behind this incident and lead to an arrest. Meanwhile, Fox San Antonio reported that a witness heard gunshots on the morning of the shooting and upon investigating, saw a friend of the victim standing over Ford's body while making a 911 call, before she fled the scene.
Crime Stoppers has announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to felony arrests in this case. Those with knowledge of the events or the suspect are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP (7867). Additional avenues for tips include sending a text with "Tip 127" followed by the information to CRIMES (274637), or the P3 Tips app available on the App Store and Google Play, as well as submissions via the Crime Stoppers website, as stated by Fox San Antonio.
