Milwaukee residents seeking to amplify their advocacy efforts will find a prime opportunity at City Hall next Wednesday, as Advocacy Day makes its return, an event designed to bolster the capacity for self-representation among the local population, Common Council members Milele A. Coggs, Mark Chambers, Jr., Andrea M. Pratt, Larresa Taylor, and Sharlen Moore have extended a citywide invitation to the citizenry to participate in this civic engagement gathering which is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The focal point of the day’s agenda is a keynote speech from former Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes, and there will be diverse workshops meant to provide attendees with the necessary tools and knowledge across a range of issues impacting the community, the current roster of workshops will tackle topics such as entrepreneurship, housing strategies, and public safety, each tailored to impart practical advice and advocacy techniques, Municipal departments alongside entities like the Milwaukee Urban League Young Professionals will be present, contributing guidance on navigating city procedures and tapping into available services.
