This morning, a vehicle with windows too dark for the law was pulled over by San Mateo police, an action that led to the arrest of two individuals. The stop, which took place in the area of S. Delaware Street and 25th Avenue, resulted in the apprehension of a convicted felon, Danny Nelson, and his passenger, Elizabeth Hill, both aged 33. According to the San Mateo Police Department's release, the routine check swiftly escalated when officers discovered that Nelson was on probation for weapons charges and was illegally armed once again.
As per protocol, being on probation allowed officers to search Nelson's vehicle, where they found a loaded, unregistered firearm snugly stowed beneath the seat Hill was perched upon during the traffic stop. A subsequent rummage through Hill's purse revealed cartridges of ammunition together with ecstasy tablets. The discoveries led to multiple charges for the duo, including possession of a concealed firearm, ammunition, a large-capacity magazine, and a controlled substance.
A statement released by the department detailed the specifics of each individual's charges. Nelson, a San Francisco resident, faces charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, and more. Hill, hailing from Richmond, has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and possession of a controlled substance, among other offenses.
Both individuals were subsequently booked into the San Mateo County Jail without further incident.
