
Last night, the San Mateo Police Department apprehended a convicted felon, Jason Longbrake, during a traffic stop executed for several vehicle violations. The incident happened around 9:03 PM near Highway 92 and Alameda de las Pulgas. The officers’ attention was drawn to residue in baggies, suspected to contain methamphetamine, which were in plain view upon engaging with Longbrake, according to the San Mateo Police Department.
As the stop ensued, an on-site investigation led to the discovery of more suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded revolver within the confines of the vehicle. With a quick search of records, the officers discovered that Longbrake, who is 40 years of age, had a prior felony conviction. In consequence of the discovery, the San Mateo resident found himself facing multiple charges, including firearm and controlled substances possession.
The San Mateo Police Department's announcement on social media outlines the series of charges Longbrake was arrested on. These encompass possession of a firearm by a felon under 29800(a)(1)PC, possession of ammunition by a felon under 30305(a)PC, possession of a controlled substance with a firearm under 11370(a)HS, possession of a firearm in a vehicle with prior under 25850(c)(1)PC, possession of a controlled substance under 11377(a)HS, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia under 11364(a)HS. Longbrake was booked into the San Mateo County Jail following the stop.
