The Santa Monica Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into allegations against Fernando A. Salazar, a 28-year-old licensed physical therapist in Santa Monica, for sexual assault. The alleged incident took place on February 19 during a scheduled therapy session at Select Physical Therapy, located at 507 Wilshire Boulevard. According to CBS News Los Angeles, the police arrested Salazar nearly two months after the incident, on April 17, for one count of sexual battery.

Following his arrest, the Santa Monica PD has released Salazar's photograph and is currently seeking additional victims who may have had similar encounters. An investigation is ongoing, and authorities are making a public appeal for any individuals with relevant information or those who have been victims themselves to come forward. As KTLA reported, detectives are working to determine if this is an isolated case or if there exists a pattern of misconduct by the therapist.

In a public statement shared on their Facebook page, Santa Monica PD emphasized that all reports will be treated with sensitivity and discretion. They encourage anyone with information to contact Det. Darnell Crumpler or Sgt. David Haro. According to the department’s post, they can be reached via email or phone, and the Watch Commander's desk is available 24 hours a day to field calls.
