On the morning of May 28, around 10:30 a.m., someone placed the kittens in front of a room at the Gratiot Avenue establishment, leaving the young animals without their mother. In a Facebook post obtained by ClickOnDetroit, security footage from the motel reveals an unidentified individual committing the act.
Concerned for the kittens as well, the Eastpointe Police Animal Control Division has shared an urgent plea on their Facebook page. They are seeking both the missing mother cat and any information that could help identify the person responsible. Animal Control emphasized the importance of community support in handling such heartbreaking situations, stating, "It takes a village to make amazing things happen, and we are thankful for our rescue partners!" The kittens, now in the care of a rescue organization, need dedicated attention to thrive without their mother.
