The National Weather Service in Seattle has provided an update on the local weather conditions and forecast for the coming days, indicating a brief respite from the typical Pacific Northwest gloom. According to the latest data, Seattle is currently enjoying clear skies with the temperature sitting at a cool 52°F, and a modest 76% humidity. As the city wakes to this clarity, there's a certain crispness to the air, grounded by a dewpoint of 45°F.
As we move into the day, the NWS forecast predicts a mostly sunny sky with daytime highs reaching a comfortable 73°F. The calm winds are expected to pick up slightly, hailing from the north northwest at around 5 to 9 mph as the afternoon progresses. This calm pattern continues into the evening, with an expected low around 56°F and winds easing back down after midnight.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, Seattleites should buckle up for a warming trend as the high is slated to soar to near 85°F under sunny skies. The wind will remain light and variable, providing little respite from the building warmth. However, this balmy weather comes with a price as Wednesday night could see the introduction of showers, with the NWS giving us a 30 percent chance of precipitation after 11:00 p.m., and clouds on the increase.
Thursday continues this unsettled stretch, offering showers likely mainly before 11:00 a.m., with a 70% chance of precipitation and new rainfall amounts landing between a tenth and a quarter of an inch. Despite the wet start, the day is forecast to clear up somewhat, leading to partly sunny conditions and a high near 67°F. The south-southwest wind will remain gentle, making a light showing in the afternoon. The showers are giving way to a mostly clear Thursday night, with the mercury dropping to around 48°F.
Heading into the weekend, the NWS heralds a return to sunny days with Friday projected to peak at a high near 75°F and Friday night descending to a low around 54°F. The weekend itself is shaping up to be an appealing one for outdoor activities, with the forecast promising mostly sunny conditions and a high again near 75°F for Saturday. Though Saturday night may see some clouds with lows around 53°F.
The fair weather is expected to persist into the beginning of next week, with Sunday remaining mostly sunny and a high near 69°F, while Monday introduces a slight chance of showers amidst the sunshine, maintaining the high close to 69°F.
