Seattle's historically rich Chinatown-International District has been marred by violence this past weekend, with two separate double stabbings occurring within just two days. According to a report by FOX13 Seattle, the first incident took place on South Jackson Street around 8:30 p.m. last Saturday, leaving a 32-year-old man in critical condition after being stabbed in the neck. The man received emergency care on the scene before being rushed to Harborview Medical Center.

The second stabbing occurred the following day, with both victims, aged 30 and 26, self-evacuating and seeking their way to Harborview Medical Center, where they are reported to be in stable condition. As reported by KOMO News, authorities have yet to apprehend any suspects in connection with either event, and no one is currently in custody.

Amid this spate of violence, the Chinatown-International District continues to be celebrated for its resilience and diversity. In an interview with KING5, CIDBIA representative Than spoke about the community's spirit. "This neighborhood feels like a home,” she said. “It feels like a place where I can really lay my roots down." CIDBIA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, promotion, and protection of one of Seattle's oldest neighborhoods.
