Almost a year after a violent altercation claimed the life of a man and injured two others in south Phoenix, a second suspect has been taken into custody. Jordan Wren, 19, was arrested during a routine traffic stop after officers realized he had outstanding warrants connected to last summer's shooting. According to Phoenix Police, as informed by FOX 10 Phoenix, Wren was detained on Tuesday and is now facing criminal charges, including second-degree murder and aggravated assault.

The initial incident took place near 19th Avenue and Telegraph Pass Road early on Aug. 25, 2024, as per AZ Family. When responders arrived, they found Jeremy Carra, 30, and two other persons shot. Carra succumbed to his injuries, while the others were hospitalized and survived. A month later, Zacariah Garcez, 24, was arrested, but Wren managed to elude capture until recently.

Further details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting have surfaced from court documents acquired by AZ Family. It appears that Carra was at the location with another man, a woman, and two children when an argument with Garcez, Wren, and others at the scene escalated into a physical and then deadly confrontation. Police reports and court documents indicate the presence of a white truck used by the suspects to flee the scene, and fourteen shell casings were found at the location.

Investigators also discovered from a driver, who was questioned, that Wren is believed to have fired a handgun during the altercation, while Garcez admitted to stabbing Carra. "I got him. I stabbed him," Garcez reportedly told the driver, ensuring him that "nobody was going to hit his girlfriend," as stated by AZ Family. In an interview with police, Wren admitted to knowing everyone in the suspect group but claimed not to have seen who shot Carra. As for his whereabouts following the incident, Wren alleged that he had traveled to California and subsequently lost his phone.
