Additionally, the Government Accountability Office is tasked with reviewing lender adoption of these changes and reporting back to Congress.
Moving forward with the other piece of legislation, the HELPER Act would establish a novel FHA home loan program specifically tailored for public servants like law enforcement, firefighters, medical first responders, and teachers. These individuals would qualify for first-time mortgages on primary family residences with no down payment demanded, instead facing a one-time insurance premium upfront.
