A 31-year-old man has died after a stabbing incident in Silver Spring, Montgomery County, late Thursday night. Responding to reports of an attack at the 11400 block of Lockwood Drive, authorities from the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) discovered the man with a stab wound at approximately 10:30 p.m., according to FOX Baltimore.
The victim was urgently transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. As the MCPD's Major Crimes Division conducts its investigation, no suspect has been apprehended or identified. The police are notifying the victim's family and plan to release his name following the proper protocols.
The incident reportedly took place at the Vista at White Oak Apartments. Homicide detectives were on the scene to collect evidence and interview potential witnesses. An official spokesperson for the MCPD confirmed that earlier this morning, they are still in search of the person or persons responsible for this fatal stabbing, WUSA9 reported.
