A South San Francisco middle school teacher has been arrested amidst allegations of inappropriate conduct with students. The South San Francisco Police Department disclosed information in a social media post yesterday, reporting that an investigation had been underway since May 2 following reports of a Parkway Heights Middle School teacher engaging in such behavior during the current school year.
Upon receiving the troubling information, the South San Francisco Unified School District acted swiftly, suspending the implicated educator, Ahmad Rafah, and placing him on administrative leave. While the details of the allegations remain under wraps due to the sensitivity of the matter involving juvenile students, the authorities processed an arrest warrant after their thorough investigation into the claims.
Rafah was detained at his residence yesterday, where he was formally slapped with 11 counts of 288(c)(1) PC and one count of 288(a) PC, charges associated with lewd acts upon a child under the age of 14. Booked into the San Mateo County Jail, the former 8th-grade teacher faces significant legal troubles ahead as the case unfolds.
The South San Francisco Police Department expressed, in an online statement, its commitment to a thorough investigation and urged the public to come forward with any additional information. Anyone privy to details that may aid in their ongoing inquiry is encouraged to contact the police department at (650) 877-8900.
