There will be overnight closures on Interstate 15 (I-15) near the Tropicana Interchange from May 12 to May 16 for work on the I-15/Tropicana Interchange Project. The project will expand the road to five lanes in each direction and include safety upgrades with new technology, according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.
Closures along the resort corridor will start at 9:00 p.m. on May 12, and end early on May 16, for the installation of vehicle detection loops and upgrades, including Active Traffic Management signs and a wrong-way driver alert system. The Tropicana Ave on-ramp to southbound I-15 will be closed first, followed by closures on southbound I-15 between Flamingo Rd and Russell Rd, and other ramps. Starting May 16, all lanes on I-15 will be open, restoring five lanes of traffic. The High-Occupancy Vehicle lanes will remain open to all drivers until paving and striping are finished later this summer.
