Attention St. Augustine drivers: Starting tomorrow, expect delays and detours along King Street as roadwork begins for the King Street water main improvement project. The project is being led by the City of St. Augustine in partnership with contractor TB Landmark.
Be on the lookout for Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) signs directing drivers from US1 to Riberia Street. With construction crews and signaling in place, there will be a lot to navigate around. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flagmen and posted signs to ensure safety for everyone in the area.
According to the city's announcement, this isn't the only project making waves in the area. A separate bridge replacement project by the Florida Department of Transportation is also on the horizon, slated to begin in late summer of 2025. Local residents should anticipate increased traffic and detours during their daily commutes. It is advised to plan ahead, allow additional time for appointments, and exercise patience.
